About this deal

The Z-Vibe is available in two different versions: plastic (all of the color options) or metal (aluminum). The plastic optionsare sturdy, affordable, easy-to-clean, and colorfully kid-friendly. The aluminum option has slightly more weight to it, and the metal is cool to the touch. Mini Tip - This is a smaller version of the Probe Tip, designed for smaller mouths (about 2.5 years and under). This age recommendation is not a hard-and-fast rule though - we've seen younger kids use the Probe Tip and older individuals use the Mini Tip. The Baby Grabber – The Baby Grabber has the same design as the original, but with a shorter stem appropriately sized for babies. I have used the Baby Grabber with both of my own children as they progressed through the stages of oral exploration (aka – putting EVERYTHING in their mouth!), teething, and transitioning to solid foods. Not only does the Baby Grabber provide opportunities for oral exploration, pain relief, and development of the hand-mouth connection, it also helps babies strengthen their lips, tongue, jaw, and mouth as they prepare for higher level eating and speech skills. I love the Baby Grabber! This infant-sized Grabber comes in a soft version (either light blue or yellow) as well as an orange XT version. Learn how to use the Baby Grabber by watching this brief instructional video. These spoons are sized for children up to the age of roughly 3 years, depending on their mouth size.

XT / Medium Firm - this is the middle level, which we call XT ("Xtra Tough"); It's firmer, but still fairly chewy Caution: the Z-Vibe is NOT a toy. It is atherapeutic tool intended to be used by a professional therapist (or by parents trained by their therapist). Itcontains small parts (including a battery)that may pose a choking hazard: direct adult supervision is required at all times. When used with the Z-Vibe handle, the Spoon Tips can help "wake up" the mouth, increase awareness, and provide stimulation to the lips, tongue, cheeks, and jaw. A wonderful tool for any sensory mealtime treatment plan, these Spoon Tips have helped many therapists and parents get tube-fed children on their first solid foods. And guess what? We are hosting a GIVEAWAY at the end of this post! So be sure to not only pin this post for future reference, but also make your way to the end so you can enter the giveaway. Alright, let’s get to it! Designed with versatility in mind, there are over 35 tip attachments available in various sizes, textures, and resiliencies. From spoons to toothbrushes to pencils and more, the same handle can shift goals simply by switching out one tip for another. View them all here. Tongue Tip - This tip can be used as a traditional tongue scraper to help establish good oral care. It can also be used to help establish the concept of tongue lateralization and elevation (hold the Tongue Tip vertically in front of the mouth and ask the individual to put the tip of their tongue inside the hole, then guide the tongue from side to side or up and down). You can also place the Tongue Tip flat on top of the tongue to provide input to a large surface area of the tongue (this tip has the largest "footprint" surface-area-wise). Self-regulation: Some children are oral sensory seekers, meaning they seek input to their mouth to feel regulated and calm. Children who orally seek will frequently put objects in their mouths, chew on their clothing, etc. A Z-vibe is a great tool to provide that sensory input to a child’s mouth which over time can help to decrease oral seeking.

The Z-Vibe is highly recommended for individuals with hyposensitivities and low oral tone. Its gentle vibration can help increase oral awareness and provide much needed proprioceptive input to the lips, cheeks, tongue, and jaw. For sensory-seekers who crave oral stimulation, massaging the gums with the Soft Brush Tip can be particularly helpful. If you’ve been around pediatric occupational therapy or speech therapy for any length of time, then you’ve probably heard of the Z-Vibe. It’s awesome! The Original Grabber – The Original Grabber is purple and consists of a “loop” and “stem” that are soft and chewy. Learn how to use a Grabber in this brief instructional video. Use the Brush Tips for gentle gum massage and teeth cleaning and to transition individuals into the eventual use of a regular toothbrush. The Tongue Tipcan also be used as a tongue scraper for dental care with the Z-Vibe. Caution: the Z-Vibe is NOT a toy. It is a therapeutic tool intended to be used by a professional therapist (or by parents trained by their therapist). It contains small parts (including a battery) that may pose a choking hazard: Direct adult supervision is required at all times. While ARK Therapeutic makes many more oral sensory/motor products, I wanted to highlight the Z-Vibe and the Grabbers in this post since they are the staples of many oral motor intervention programs.
