About this deal
The peak height on The One is quite generous at 45″ and, despite a small interior footprint, has a relatively large vestibule at 10 square feet.
Get the right pitch. Watch some videos like this one or this one, read the guidelines from the manufacturer, practice in your garden, and make sure to pitch it well so the fly is nicely and evenly stretched. The condensation and sloping walls meant that I, at five feet, eight inches, couldn’t sit up anywhere but directly below the tent’s peak without brushing my head against a wet ceiling, or move around much without brushing my bag’s foot against a wet wall. Frankly, it’s not easy living in the Lunar Solo in wet conditions. The Lunar Solar has a very well-designed floating bathtub floor. I have found that the bathtub floor pitches perfectly every time. The floor “floats,” reducing stress on the materials and minimizing punctures. I have never had a puncture despite not using a ground sheet. SMD sells a lightweight polycro groundsheet for those who want extra protection. Internal Gear Storage Area An optional 49 in (124 cm) pole is available in carbon fiber (1.8 oz / 51 g) or aluminum (3.2 oz / 90 g)
BOTTOM LINE
We strongly recommend that you regularly clean and treat your zipper with a zipper lubricant . Weight
Other designs with a fixed modality for setup didn't do as well in this category. Most require the need to sink stakes, which need to be in a specific place relative to the installed guy lines. Those with more adaptable systems have more tie-off points that you can add in. You can also make any tent more adaptable by bringing a little extra cordage to use when the terrain gets harder to hammer stakes into the ground.Single-wall designs are excellent in winter because you won’t deal with a flappy rainfly and won’t risk getting snow under the fly. While the vestibule is 9 square feet, the interior has 20 square feet, designed as a symmetrical rectangle (i.e., not tapered). The peak height is generous, too, making this a good choice for a tall camper. The Plex Solo requires one trekking pole for setup, and the maximum peak height is a whopping 52 inches. Without a doubt, this means that the tent isn’t going to provide as much warmth, so you need to make sure you’re getting enough of that from the rest of your sleep system. And still, if the air is humid enough or it’s raining out, the build-up of condensation is inevitable.
