About this deal

This issue is a cornerstone of American comics. The first relevant comic book completely conceived by Frank Miller. The first appearance of an icon of the medium, the tormented character of Elektra Natchios, ninja assassin by training and by vocation. A plot directly and unapologetically inspired by an issue of Will Eisner's The Spirit. The beginning of the complicated relation between Frank Miller and his female characters, destined to go down the drain over the years, after the death (spoiler?) of his 'daughter' Elektra.

Soule writes this story of Daredevil and Misty Knight searching for Wolverine. It contains information crucial to Daredevil’s main story at this point. Both annuals come at the start of this run after #270 (except supporting stories from 5, noted above). Also collects material from Punisher Annual 3, Incredible Hulk Annual 16, and Silver Surfer Annual 3 I do not like Heather Glenn, and I do not like the direction Matt went when he was with her. I'd much rather have Frank Miller break up Matt and Heather permanently than have this on again off again dynamic. It's what irritated me most about Karen and Matt. This relationship is just a repeat of that. Shame, when Elektra is right there. This, more than Punisher, was what launched Marvel Knights. It was mature and really explored Matt’s faith and expanding off that by delving into why he is so drawn to what’s dark and mysterious in the world.

Success!

This issue starts with young Miller experimenting with one of his future tropes: narration by tv screens!

The Man Without Fear: An updated Daredevil origin story that is very good. My only complaint is that Elektra is supposed to be around college age and she looks like a 60 year old with bad plastic surgery. The below team-ups span various eras of Daredevil’s history, and don’t have to follow the preceding section of comics! After #154: Marvel Two-in-One #37-40, Thor #271, Human Fly #9, Marvel Team-Up #73, Fantastic Four Annual 13 During #157: Captain America #234- 236, Spectacular Spider-Man #26- 28Daredevil appears in issues #4-6 of this six-issue mini-series written by Kevin Smith. Available in hardcover.
