However, it’s expensive, especially for the quantity that you get, and it doesn’t come with an applicator.We had a 2001 car with some very faded trim to spruce up for this test, as well as a newer car with some modestly greying tyres.
Still a good option, especially if you’d rather avoid a silicone-based dressing that can affect grip if it gets onto the tyre treads. It’s a shame that Autoglym specifies a foam applicator yet doesn’t include one, but even so this is one of the best products for outright shine on your tyres if a super-bright finish is what you’re after. Purchase in combination with Diamond Shine's tyre and trim dressing to leave your car's tyres glossy and clean! CarPlan Demon Tyres is excellent value, and does a fine job of getting your tyres back to a deep, black finish. Multi-Purpose Sponges - These detailing pads and sponges can be used for a number of cleaners, such as car shampoo, wax, polish, leather cleaner, and tyre dressings, as well as daily household cleaners! No mention of it being appropriate for plastic trim, though, which is a shame because it’s one of our favourites for the tyres. Sometimes, cleaning wheels and tyres can be a tedious and strenuous task, that’s why a quality wheel cleaner is so important! The trim faded a little after a few days and needed another application, but it still bettered any others, and the tyres looked fresh for a couple of weeks and more.
We found that one application of the McLaren dressing brought a nice, medium shine, while a second coat brought a high shine that lasted well over a couple of weeks of rain showers and routine driving. Even in wet weather and at winter once you've washed your tyre, even though its gone a bit dull, you can tell its been treated since summer.
